With the Feature Editor dialog box, you can make changes to the current attribute values for an assigned feature. You can also use this dialog box to view the complete set of attributes for the feature type of the assigned facility and to supply values for attributes without default settings. Selecting the box for an attribute value makes the box editable so that you can enter changes. Attributes that appear dimmed have been configured as uneditable and cannot be changed.

The Feature Editor dialog box is accessed from the Design Assistant. Required attributes are displayed in bold type. Linked attributes are designated by a special icon with an arrow indicating the "from-to" direction of the attribute link (see Linked Attributes between Features).

To edit an attribute value of an assigned feature

1. In the Design Workspace, right-click an assigned feature and choose Feature Editor from the shortcut menu to open the Feature Editor dialog box.

   Or double-click the feature.

2. In the Default Values list, click the box of the value that you want to change.
3. From the drop-down list or drop-down calendar, select a new value. Or type text in the text box.
4. Click OK.

To edit a linked attribute value of an assigned feature

1. From the Design Workspace, open the Feature Editor for the assigned feature that you want to edit.
2. In the Default Values list, click the box of the linked value that you want to change.
3. From the list of available values, select a new value and click OK.
   Note: Depending on the type of link, the Design Assistant will display either a warning message or the Linked Attribute Change dialog box.
4. To change a linked value that is propagated by another feature, click Yes on the message box to complete the process. To change a linked value that propagates the attributes of other features, review the linked features displayed in the Linked Attribute Change dialog box, select the ones that you want to simultaneously update, and then click OK.
